Betty Penny, MBA, an experienced speaker has over 15 years of internet technology and executive management experience as CEO, CFO mid-sized corporations and being an entrepreneur. Betty has operated several enterprises from inception to award winning profitable ventures. Her ventures includes project management of building a small ship to a successful tourist and wedding venue which hosts thousands of visitors annually and has won many awards. She is currently CEO of Appsmakerstore which builds and develops mobile apps.
Betty previously chaired the Durham Region Economic Development Advisory Committee and was involved with the LHINs ( Local Health Integrated Networks) as a committee member: Previous appointments include Director/Treasurer for Ontario Family Health Networks, one of the founding directors of Women in International Trade Ontario and the founder of The Durham Home and Small Business Association. She has served on numerous boards that are both women related and entrepreneurial focused. She has been nominated several times for Woman Entrepreneur for Canada.
In addition to being a Price Waterhouse Coopers Alumni; Betty has received several business awards from local Chambers of Commerce for her various business ventures. She has authored many management articles that have been published in small business magazines nationally. She is one of the leading authors of “The Greening of Not For Profits Handbook” published by Wiley and Sons, released in Washington in 2010.
