Event Title: getwired for eBusiness

Event Description: As the use of social media expands, businesses are continually looking for ways to harness its power to promote their products and services, and extend their brands. According to a survey from the Bank of Montreal, one third of Canadian businesses have a social media presence, and that same percentage say it has helped their companies prosper.

This event will help small business owners understand why engagement through eBusiness is so important—and how they can use it to turn passionate fans in their social networks into tomorrow’s new business.

One of the key components to getwired is the round-table sessions, where we bring together small groups of entrepreneurs (7-8 people, all business sectors, 1-5 years in business) to discuss their successes and struggles, and pose “burning questions” to one another in regards to social media.

This is a peer-to-peer learning opportunity, and the round-tables provides leadership in the session by placing a seasoned businessperson at the table as a mentor and facilitator for the group. The event is aimed at early-growth businesses from all sectors.

The mentor’s role is not to lecture, but rather to provide guidance, direction and perhaps anecdotes. Entrepreneurs are used to doing things for themselves. Surveys of past events have shown that they want to be actively involved in professional development events. The round-table sessions allow them to do this. Each round table will be 20 minutes long. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in four sessions from at least 12 choices.

If you are interested in participating in this event as a table expert please contact Jennifer @ jennifer.vivian@brampton.ca
