Face Pattern Recognition – Finding the Right Career May Be Written in Your Face by Naomi Tickle

In other words the physical features in your face give vital clues as to your innate abilities and talents. Many of these features can be seen at the time of birth, such as the gift for music, writing, the artist or designer also the precision trait. Once these abilities have been identified, a computer program is used to match them with careers or hobbies that would benefit from these innate skills.

Edward Jones, a judge in Los Angeles, noticed a strong relationship between the physical structure of the face and personality. Jones and a group of men from various backgrounds researched, developed and tested the system they termed Personology or Face Pattern Recognition. These observations connect the abilities and talents that can be seen in the physical features of the face with careers they will enjoy.

For example – individuals with close set eyes are good at working with details. They often specialize in a specific area of interest. The close set eyes are often seen in careers such as dentistry, accountants, teachers, health practitioners or any career that requires a more detailed activity. When the outer corner of the eye is lower than the inner corner, this will indicate an individual with this trait is a perfectionist. They see mistakes others miss. This trait is often seen in editors, film producers, construction work, electrolysis professionals and engineers. The perfectionist trait would apply to all careers that would benefit from this ability.

It takes more than just one feature in the face to determine a career. If they have one of the basic requirements needed for the job, other traits will support that role. Blind studies have been conducted with career counselors comparing the Face Pattern Recognition computerized career program with traditional tests. The feedback from the subjects studied said they felt the career suggestions were in many cases a better match compared with other tests. The basic difference was that the assessment was from photographs and only five questions were asked. These would not be asked when meeting with a client in person.

When people have worked at the same company for many years, they are completely lost when they suddenly find themselves out of work. They’ve only had one job and find it challenging as to what other career they should pursue. Face Pattern Recognition simply matches an individuals innate talents to careers that need those abilities. It’s as simple as that. The face is the GPS to our inner blue print. It provides a template to work from and helps individuals get back on track with their lives. This also helps college students who have a degree in hand and are still lost, despite all the tests they have taken. Many have shared that they have felt validated for the first time. We have one life and it is important to connect with activites that ignites the spark within.

BY MARLENE GEORGE, HEALTH, WELLNESS, BUSINESS MENTOR

When does dancing become drudgery? When does laughter turn into tears? When does play become work? Every human activity follows a bell curve between pleasure and pain, from happy to sad, from anticipation to anxiety.

Philosophers tell us if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. That is a lovely sentiment, but even if you are pursuing your passion on your job, some days are more enjoyable than others. The defining difference is the amount of good stress when compared to the amount of distress occurring during your work day. What can start out as a promising, productive 10 hours can quickly turn into a hectic, frantic dash between phone calls, messages, messaging, meetings, and playing catch-up.

Some of us thrive on “busy-ness”, interruptions, changes of course while others prefer the steady, reliable stream of activity throughout the day—all of us have a tipping point when the pace of events and activities outstrips our ability to cope with it. It’s at that point when our performance slips, our production becomes uneven, and mistakes happen. The bottom line: identify your personal tipping point, and then take a simple step to return yourself to the stimulating stress state BEFORE you slide down to the distracted, distressful side of the curve.

The Tortoise and the Hare…

Eustress, a term coined in 1975 by endocrinologist Hans Selye, refers to the positive physical functions occurring when we perceive something as pleasant, fun, or challenging. Eustress is pressure affecting our heart rate, breathing, muscle tension, and focus in the most productive way. These effects create a highly stimulated productive human being, regardless of the work he or she does. With these heightened physical reactions; our body, mind and spirit perform at the top of our game…for a while.

Some of us are sprinters, hares, who get the job done faster, yet run out of energy sooner than our turtle counterparts. The long distance movers, tortoises, will experience the same physical, mental effects of eustress, but will measure their progress in inches rather than miles during the same time period. Regardless of who arrives at the finish line first, there will always be an ending to the inspired, energetic performance when the line between eustress and distress is crossed. After the Apex….

When the positive stress reaches the tipping point, the apex of the bell curve, gravity takes over and the distress causes the downward slide into disorganization, depression, and dis-ease. The previous productivity enhanced by eager anticipation, and the joy of accomplishment disappears with the appearance of the negative kind of stress. Dis-ease means more than the physical manifestation of illness or disease. Dis-ease involves the entire person and affects every aspect of their personal and professional lives. Negative stress, harmful stress, debilitating stress causes disintegration of our performance and productivity on the job. It also leaks into our personal lives, causing short tempers, tension in our relationships, and general despair. Living and working under the cloud of distress darkens our days, diminishes our effectiveness, and deters our progress.

Tap into Your Tipping Point…

To take advantage of your eustress and avoid the downward slide into distress, the first step is to identify your personal tipping point. Do this by increasing your awareness of your body’s physical reactions to stress. Notice where your tension appears:

• In your shoulders
• In your neck
• In your stomach
• In your throat
• In your head

The most important career move you can make is to identify when your eustress peaks and your distress begins. Your body will tell you. Listen to your physical clues, sense the tension before it leads to pain and detrimental performance. Then take the following simple action:

Breathe!

When you consciously inhale, you attract the benefits of fresh, clean, invigorating air into your brain and your body. Drawing new air into your system inspires you to go beyond your expectations for the outcome of your efforts. Your vision becomes your reality.

When you exhale, you release the detriments to your performance caused by distress.

It’s all about awareness. Pay attention to your physical symptoms of stress to determine your unique tipping point.

Shakespeare and Creating Success

Articles Only

You may ask, what does Shakespeare have to do with creating success in your life? Let us move our attention to Shakespeare’s play, “As you Like It”, and discover the answer to the famous quote:

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts. His act being seven ages.”

When you reframe this quote, which means to explore the deeper meaning of the words, in a new and different frame. We can apply this analogy and use it as a powerful metaphor for creating success in all areas of our lives. If you really think about it, we are all talented actors who possess many skills and abilities, in the wonderful arena called “Our Life!” It is an exciting and empowering journey and we all have the opportunity to create, write and produce exactly what we want in our lives, in every moment (Our Play!)

First, we want to define the creative element of what this play is all about. What role(s) are you playing, who are the other actors, writers, co-producers, sound technicians, editors, and so on! Ultimately we play all of these roles to some capacity and we are the ‘soul-sole’ directors of this amazing play! The ‘cool part’ is that you get to choose the people you want to interact with, co-produce and create your brilliant successful life both professionally and personally. How empowering is that?

Now ask yourself these questions. Who is my character and what role am I playing at this moment in time? Is it the ‘perfect’ role created just for me? Am I playing the ultimate role or do I want to re-write and edit the script, to fit perfectly with my vision of the “ultimate success role” I have always wanted to play!

Now let us look at the lighting, the set, actors and ask who is in your audience. It is important to know who your niche target market is in business, so you know who would receive great value from your company (personally and professionally). Clearly define your role, who you are, what you are offering as a product or service (e.g. coaching), where you want to take your business ~ your vision, mission and how you are contributing and making a difference. Is your play a drama, comedy, biography, fiction or non-fiction and how does this reflect all the components in life.

So let’s review. We play many roles in our lives and wear many different hats that define us. It is essential in all our roles, to play to your strengths, skills, abilities and passions. In any area of weakness, decide to delegate the tasks to individuals and partners who are skilled in those areas. A great book to read about this is Michael Gerber’s E-Myth series.

So, have fun with creating your success in all areas of your life!

Prior to Webinar Start

If you plan to share your entire desktop, turn off any instant-messaging applications, notification software or other programs that may interrupt or distract from the Webinar.

Turn off any streaming media applications that may take up bandwidth and resource-intensive applications that may be taxing processor ability.

Set the desktop display to a neutral background and adjust display settings to a mid-range resolution (e.g., 1024 x 768) to improve the display for attendees with lesser settings. This is also the optimal setting for recording a Webinar.

Clean up your desktop before a Webinar or use the Clean Screen feature when showing your desktop to avoid distracting your attendees.

Have the documents you wish to share ready to be accessed in one or two clicks.

Run a Practice Session with your panelists and any other organizers to familiarize yourself with the format and flow of your online presentation.

Managing the Webinar

Arrive a few minutes early to greet the attendees as they arrive, and start the Webinar on time. It also helps to have a welcome presentation running during this time. Your presence in these opening minutes can help establish the tone and direction of the Webinar.

Provide an agenda at the start of the Webinar, including estimated duration, and stick to it.

Inform attendees what the purpose/goal of the Webinar is, what to expect and when and how to ask questions and participate in the Webinar.

Provide information on how to use equipment or services and how to get assistance if needed.

Consider having another organizer help manage and monitor questions and answers.

Encourage participation by using the Polling feature.

End the Webinar clearly. Make sure all the attendees know that the Webinar is formally over and stay on the line to address any last questions.

Managing Audio

If dialing in to the Webinar using a telephone, avoid using cellular and cordless phones due to static. Use the phone handset or a headset instead of speakerphones to avoid background noise, tunnel effect and sentence clipping.

If using a telephone, turn off your call waiting. The beep of a new call on another line can be heard by everyone.

If using a telephone, avoid putting your phone on hold during the presentation. Your hold music will play into the conference call and make it impossible for other attendees to continue the Webinar.

If you find you are having a sound quality issue, hang up and dial back in (telephone) or check your mic and speaker devices (VoIP). Sometimes these problems clear themselves when the bad connection is terminated.

If presenting, join the Webinar from a location where there is little background noise.

Introduce yourself when you begin speaking and ask your panelists to also identify themselves before speaking. Not everyone in the Webinar may know everyone else’s voice.
